One way to inspire and make people *smile* is with a camera and photography is one of our 10TEN interests.

We will be sharing tips, running competitions and having fun!  First challenge is to send in a photo to make us *smile*

Here are 10TEN photo tips

The day before make sure the camera battery is charged and that you have space on the memory card.

Always carry a camera with you.

Try to fill the frame with your subject. Your best zoom lens is your feet so get in close.

Be aware of what is behind your subject look out for unwanted notices, signs or random people.

 On single or small groups shoot at eye level. If they are sat down bend down to their eye level to take a photo.

Do not shoot into the sun, if possible shoot in shade and don’t be afraid to turn your flash on for outside shots.

Talk to your subject and try to get a reaction. If you are having fun taking a photo they will be more relaxed. I always say ” I will take one more just in case I was not smiling! “ just to get a reaction

 Always look for the un-posed candid shot, these shots can be the most rewarding as the subject is not often aware they are being photographed.

Look for the unusual angle or use an interesting object as a focal point.

On large group shots try getting up high and shooting down which will get everyone in the photo.
