Haunted room 4
White Bear, Devizes - We have visited several times to investigate the haunting's. There are numerous areas we investigated. The cellar has two main areas, in one there is a slight negative energy which produced numerous orbs. It is reported that a horse fell down the cellar via the beer doors which are in the street. It broke its neck and was buried in the cellar. Recently work in the cellar produced horses bones which indicates the story of the horse is true. We did not pick up any ghostly horses!. The other area of the cellar is more tunnel like and one of our team picked up a naval connection. You could sense it was used for smuggling. The restaurant area has a warm atmosphere (not only because of the open fire) but it is welcoming area and we picked up on the fact that soldiers used the Inn and there is a strong connection with one of Oliver Cromwell's men.
The most exciting area of a haunting is in room four where several spirits seem to haunt. One of these a lady indicated she was murdered by her husband in 1655. It was because of an affair she was having. Her husband was never found guilty as he had too much power in the Devizes area. She still waits for justice. The room is also interesting as it does have a secret door which lets you enter the roof space. Maybe her lover was not too far away? If you do visit please let them know you found out about the White Bear from the web and please let us know what you find.
Haunted humour- What would you find on a haunted beach? A: A sand witch.
